Here's your weekly update (bit later than normal!) - it's been Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) -dominated but lots more as well...
On Monday, I had the opportunity to address your concerns on TTIP to the EU's chief negotiator. I participated in the constitution of the EU-Brazil & EU-Andean Community delegations of which I'm a member & worked on my report on Novel Foods...
Tuesday started early with a radio interview on the new electricity cable being built between Norway & Blyth, then the first Trade Union Intergroup meeting and I was off to Rome to the Italian Presidency's conference with EU & US Trade Chiefs on TTIP
Wednesday I headed to London for meetings with MPs & Shadow Ministers on TTIP & ended up speaking at Jeremy Corbyn's CLP meeting on TTIP plus got to see my 'little' brother!
Thursday - more MP meetings plus my first MP-MEP-Lords meeting on EU affairs (i.e. ??TTIP!)... It was excellent! Then I headed north-east to talk with activists in Stockton Labour
Friday - I got up early to get the red-eye to London to meet Thompsons to talk about their pledge, spoke at a conference on trade & labour rights before heading to North Durham Labour's annual dinner at Beamish Hall
On Saturday I met Greenpeace UK to talk energy policy & my commitment to the Arctic, headed for Bishop Auckland constituency to doorknock for County Durham Labour Party in next week's by-election & met up with 999 Call for the NHS to talk... Yes you guessed it... TTIP!
Next Monday we're heading to Strasbourg... With a packed agenda so I'm having the rest of the weekend off!
