Bullfighting

20 October 2014

We've had a lot of emails from people regarding concerns about potential subsidies for breeding bulls for bullfighting.

Labour Members of the European Parliament voted in favour of an amendment proposing exclusion of activities related to breeding bulls for bullfighting in the committees on Agriculture, the Environment and Budgets respectively. We will also be supporting this amendment in the plenary session of the whole European Parliament in October.

Labour Members of the European Parliament are opposed to public funds being spent on practices that contravene basic principles of animal welfare.
